As is a matter of record, I spent the ‘eighties and ‘nineties working at my other occupation, that of artist; primarily in the production of television commercials, and movies.

My stint as chief modelmaker on the first series of ‘Thomas The Tank Engine’ became the first of many forays into the filming of live-action miniatures and animated effects. I spent a couple of years directing commercials and effects shots for a number of production companies; most notably Oxford Scientific Films, based in Woodstock, in Oxfordshire – and world-renowned for closeup wildlife film.

At the end of this time, I briefly returned to making music. After the great tragedy of 9/11 – I embarked on my ‘comeback’ album – ‘aMIGO’, the cover of which alludes to the mystery of that terrible event, and followed it closely by recording of ‘Two Late’ an album that would sit passive on a hard drive for a decade, before finally being released in 2018. The band rehearsed the album and gigged it around West London in advance of the recording.

There were one or two high quality live recordings from this period. A live version of ‘Just Couldn’t Say’ appears on the remastered ‘aMIGO’ sessions; here are the companion tracks from that particular day.
